FAIOT launched a 5G NTN satellite handheld device to help develop 5G non-terrestrial networks

Promoting the development of 5G NTN satellite communication, FAIOT released a satellite mobile handheld solution based on the Qualcomm® QCM4490 processor and Qualcomm® 212S Modem during MWC 2024 in Barcelona, Spain.

Richard Liu, CTO of FAIOT, stated, we are pleased to launch this industry 5G NTN handheld solution with Qualcomm support. This IP67-rated device integrates the QCM4490 processor, which uses a Kryo octa-core CPU, with clock speeds up to 2.4GHz, supports 5G NR connectivity, support Wi-Fi 6E , and contain a 4500mAH Li-ion battery inside for longer life. Regarding non-terrestrial network (NTN)connectivity, the Qualcomm 212S Modem supports the 3GPP Release 17 IoT-NTN protocol , and supports the Qualcomm AwarePlatform, which has positioning capabilities in even the most challenging signal environments.
